Doctors and nurses do not get enough credit for their caring for patients. A lot of them do little things like this for all sorts of people just to make them feel more comfortable. I have several nurses in my family that go the extra mile every day with no recognition (although their giant paychecks help 😛).

Parents thought it was cute until they got the bill. 😀

Bandage $27.57

Surgical mask $37.84

Surgical quality sutures $391.08

Hospital room $8801.91

Surgeon $4775.32

Anesthetist $1254.88

Total wolf care $15,288.60

But, next month another bill for $687.89 comes in!

Yeah, there's no way people without insurance can afford a repair. Jesus, I can't even keep up with this ... one minute the request looks unlikely then the next minute the doctors comes back with false hope, and now this ridiculous total simply can't be explained away.

Just over a hundred years ago the boll weevil cotton disaster killed almost 150 stuffed animals, mostly canines and ducks (Theodore Roosevelt hadn't popularized the Teddy Bear yet). Most of those that died did so because they couldn't afford similar services. Some, with no where else to go, amputated their own legs much like a pinned hiker.

Doctors, fix that sh-- and make 100% sure it never happens again!

Putting patients at ease probably has much to recommend it from a medical standpoint. It's also a nice thing to do for someone.
