Ground can't cause a fumble on a tackle. That player was untouched, so there was no down by contact. It should have been a turnover. But the refs whistled the play dead, so they kept possession on the 1 yard line.

Classic, old DeSean Jackson in college. The play was actually a fumble and there have been other instances of guys doing the same thing that were ruled correctly. The refs blew the whistle early on this one, so it wasn't a turnover as it should have been.
