When a sim character wants to go from the house to the street, it has to go round and round through the maze for (in-game) hours.
I never played this game so maybe I'm missing something too, but this is funny enough to me...

This is from the game "the sims". Often your little guy will start running for the car so he can go to work (they don't otherwise run much); and the car will wait as long as he's running... but he still needs rest and to go to the bathroom: so because he's running from the house through the spiral hedge maze he's taking a VERY long time and pissing himself, passing out, and so forth.

When they come home they auto-walk back in; so he does the same thing and it takes him 14 'hours' of his day to get home through the maze.

Probably the most fun you'll have with the sims is devising ways to torture the little computer generated 'people' in them... which may explain a lot about the human condition...
