Jesus I want a CTS-V

Mine will be for sale shortly. 2011, manual, recaros, crystal red with 36k miles on it. Dealer was somewhere around $40k for a trade in, but I would consider less.

Looks good in red. My wife's Lexus is that color.

But why would you consider less if the dealer is willing to give your $40k for it? 😵

Mainly because the CTS-V is a 3rd vehicle and with a kid coming in 5 weeks I don't have time for it. We got my wife the mommy car and I have a low mileage daily driver so it's becoming redundant.

I'd pay a premium... that said you can find used mercs, audi's, bmw, even some volvos in the 30s-40s like the caddy -> all cooler. they may or may not have as many hp, but in my experience, it isn't all about HP

If you're in the market for a CTS-V, it is more than likely about power.

I was tempted to throw out my 135i + a briefcase full of cash but that rules that out... guess I'd just need a bigger briefcase full of cash. If I didn't have as much self control as I do I would have already PMd ya. CTS-V and 911 Turbo have always been on my list as possible suitable replacements. Yes it looks good in red... and like jlee said, it's definitely about the power. 😉

Feel free to drop off the brief case full of cash anyways 🙂

I sincerely approve of the idea...but a couple of questions:

1) Where are you getting 6+qt synthetic oil changes for $30?
2) Where are you finding 2010 CTS-Vs with 30k for mid-30's?
If you do your own changes, $30 isn't far off. 5qt jug is $22 here so 1qt + a filter for $8 more is doable.

I'd love to run across a lower mile 2010+ for mid 30's though. I've never seen one that low myself unless it was ragged out. Plus, with warmer weather creeping in, prices are going to spike.

I still want it.

half of which are full of electronics just waiting to fail and ruin your day 😛

I guess if you want an inferior car. CTS-V is pretty much the king of sedans. To argue otherwise shows brand snobbery. "cooler" ?

Please. Does "cooler" mean "bested in every category while I sit pretty with an emblem?"

When I get my V I'm putting two of those Calvin stickers peeing on a BMW and Merc emblem on the rear window. I know it pisses those snobs off that some lowly GM car is better than theirs, this will rub it in. And possibly even bait them into a fatal mistake that will have them road raging all the way home and looking up new cars online.

I guess I am not won over by the HP. I don't think the car looks exceptionally good, I don't like the interior, and I think GM is a sh!tty brand in general. I am not a brand snob, I drive a nissan/honda/mitsu/toyota/ford.... none are a premium brand.

It's not just HP. 1/4 mile, braking, handling, cornering, comfort and ride stability, reliability, it's better at pretty much everything.

Except price of course. That you paid more than the other person is the only thing you can't brag about with a CTS-V, I guess that's important to some people.

If you do it yourself, it's closer - he said drop off at a shop, though. 🙂

I'm hoping to be in the market for one in 2015, but we'll see.

Mine still comes with free oil changes for another year 😉 I really "want" to sell it, but having such a hard time thinking about letting it go.
