@Boston Dangler - I didn't intend to sound whiney about being a para! I merely wanted to point out that paras and others in wheelchairs can learn to use escalators. 🙂

From the Sears store manager's point of view, the concern was about possibly injuring others (cf the OP's video) and probably the store's liability. He had a valid point and I would have used an elevator if there was one. I didn't know the store had a freight elevator until after I went up the escalator.
