Jesus Camp is always good for teh lulz

Crazy people everywhere D😀:

I feel kind of sorry for the kids though. I've got nothing against parents teaching their kids their religion but the kids in Jesus Camp look like they've been brainwashed 😱

That movie was creepy.

That pastor lady basically says at one point that we need to follow the example of radical muslims training kids to be suicide bombers.

I don't know, these people are walking around with bibles, talking about the bible but their message seems so far removed from the teachings of Christ that it seems unfair to every other Christian to even call these people Christian.

The most interesting thing is that it drives home the basic point that religion in and of itself isn't the problem. It is the us vs. them/we are at war mentality that is the problem.

A good documentary to watch. If you are a non-radical Christian it is an interesting watch for how twisted some people make things and where some of the fear of religion can come form. If you are not religious if may confirm some of your thoughts but it does spend some time with a Christian person that talks about how this radicalization is dangerous driving home the idea that it isn't Christianity that is the issue but radicals that are the problem.

You've got to know how to read the bible correctly. For example most of the stuff Jesus said about greed and money is just him spit-balling. The stuff about slavery is just acknowledging the historical practice and attitudes of the time. Most of the stuff in Leviticus is silly and is superseded by the New Testament, however that one line in Leviticus about not lying with another man - that is the infallible word of God.

I'm going to say it because no one else has yet:

Haters gonna hate.

That movie was scary. The only lulz I recall was the scene where they all pray over a cardboard cutout of dubya. Even that was a bit creepy.

EDIT

I thought yall were talking about a summer camp or something like that.

Radical christians are just as bad as radical muslims

It should be illegal to brainwash kids into believing in religion. If you grow up and believe it on your own then go for it. But to force/scare kids into believing this crap is terrible...

That's why the camp was shut down a year later. Parents just thought it was a bible camp. But then the dumb broad who staged the investigation made it seem like this big deal, when everyone who had found out about it was appalled by it.
