Exactly - try to record and save an entire TV series to the hard drive. You'll need a closet full of hard drives before long.

I've got a bunch of DS9 episodes on my RAID 5 setup, as well as some MST3K episodes I'm restoring (the crappy audio, anyway), and those things, once they're made ready for DVD, take up a lot of space. I do also use the RAID 5 setup to maintain backups of the other PCs on the network.
I'm still wary of recordable discs, after the fiasco awhile ago of CD-Rs' dye layer peeling off after only a year. I had several CD-R's and a few RW's that were peeling. None since then though; hopefully I'll be safe now. I don't want to lose my priceless, good quality MST3K episodes to defective DVD-R's.

Was using the Lord's name in vain really necessary?

So he said Jesus. I worked with a guy named Jesus. 😛

Jesus was just on a "Rawhide" episode I watched on Hallmark channel...🙂

hmmm. Looks interesting. Whats good one to get for cheap? Also we havecomcast digital, and a tv in the other room with a box. How would i go about hooking it up? Example, coaxial -> box > pvr > tv???
Could i watch tv on a different channel at the same time as recoding a show onmy computer? Whats it record too?

I don't know about the box thing. With a splitter you can watch two programs. The programs just record to your hard drive.

On top of that i already have a 120gb Maxtor 2mb cache, and 40gb 7200rpm drives. What should i do with all this space? How should i setup my computer? Imaging, etc. Anything cool i can do with all of the space?

I am the only who noticed this?

300 + 120 + 40 = 460 GB != 480 GB

😕
