So last night I'm watching O'Reilly being hilarious and somwhat political when the next news topic comes in. Apparently Bush met with Jessia Lynch for a talk and of course they had cameras everywhere.


After about 3 secs i went berserk with the remote... if i saw 5 more sec of that GOD AWEFUL MEDIA BULSH!T, I'd have to puke.


Let me be the first one to say this:
SHES NOT A FVCKING HERO



She made a wrong turn and got into a car accident. She wans't wounded in combat... she wasnt even conscious thru the combat.

This media crap makes me sick down to my stomach. There are 800 brave soldiers who gave their lives for this country, including a man who turned down celebrity life and 20mil dollars to die for what he blieved.

It physically sickens me to see this person on TV being called a hero. The only reason why she's on the TV is because shes young, white and christian. A great rolemodel for this country .... look at this young christian girl who fought for this country! She represents all there is american! All while there are marines and army soldiers DYING on daily basis.


Can you name the people that died actually defending the convoy after it crashed?

It's to boost the morale of the average civilian. Obviously you are smarter than the average civilian so it only angers you. Would you rather them flash the faces of the dead in the state they were last found?

How come i never seen the story of the 3 marines in one humvee that killed about 30 people after crashing a machinegun nest with a humvee? How come the only time i heard about the soldiers that died trying to pull people outta burning APCs in Falujah was on discovery channel?? Read the stories from the congressional medal of honor to see what it means to "be a hero". She is not and it's disrespectful to all the fallen soldiers to partray her as one

I've also heard numerous veterans at the hospital say they don't think Jessica Lynch is a hero. She didn't do anything. The people with her who died don't even get half the recognition she gets. I don't see why she tells the media to stop focusing on her, why does she let herself be taken advantage of by the Bush admin.? She should just stay out of the spotlight, and if she is bugged by the media she can inform that she wasn't alone in Iraq.

Anybody who serves in the military is offering to put their life at risk to fight for our country if needed. That's heroic. It may not be the brightest choice to make, but it is heroic.

Your analogy is foolish. She signed up for the military knowing the risks that come along with it. Unfortunately for her those risks became reality when she was involved in fierce fighting and was taken hostage. She paid the highest price a living soldier could for her country, while you sit there on your computer and type away that she is a "bitch" because the media chooses to portray her as a hero. I don't remember hearing about Jessica Lynch sitting in the control room of CNN and telling them to report about her instead of those 3 Marines you speak of.

War isn't like it is in the movies. You don't need to be awarded the Medal of Honor to be a hero. Most of the time those who deserve it (not Lynch of course) aren't reported or aren't witnessed performing their deed.

i figured this wouldnt take long to come up.... im not trying to compare her to myself, but i knew someone would. Well you obviously missed the argument and went for the e-badass thing.

First off that's not the highest price a living solder could pay, shes not bad off at all. I'm sure all the quadri and paraplagics out there would trade her spot in a second. Also my point was that she didn't do anything to deserve that. There are nearly 1000 casualities and reportedly 10,000 wounded soldiers in this conflict and outta all of those shes pretty down on hero list. Right now in germany there THOUSANDS of soldiers lot worse off than she is that i consider heros.

Several people died while defending her at the convoy, and they paid the highest price. Lynch just got in a car accident.

She got a million dollars to write a book and a movie how crashed her humvee and cant remember anything. 1000 other families got $2500 death benefit

I'm saying you're trying to make me out to an e-badass (not the other way around) by bring out the lack of my credibility (im not in the armed services). Indifferent of my background however, i wouldnt let myself be used like that. In that aspect yes i am better than her. I believe it's utmostly disrespectful to all the fallen soldiers for her to be trotting around as if she deserved any of that.
