This guy is a certified drama queen and all around idiot. If he gets elected president in 2012 the rest of the world should launch nukes to end us.
A lot of people like his candid attitidue. He will go after anybody in the media or in politics. It makes people feel empowered somebody calls out the idiots running our country. The problem is he isnt any better than the idiots he calls out.
I will never forget him calling out Hubert Humphrey III in the debates in 98. Ventura wanted to open up 394's insane lane to everybody instead of car poolers. Humphrey in the debate said "Experts say if you do that it will be a parking lot". Ventura's response was so on the money and not beating around the bush "Have you been on 394? It already is a parking lot".
Really made Humphrey look like the idiot out of touch politician he was.
Hell no, I voted for him in the MN elections. He shook up MN politics, which was good, but otherwise, he needs to stay away from major public office.

In office he was completely ineffective. He would serve better as a critic than anybody with any actual power. Somebody like Ventura should run presidential debates to mock the candidate's stupid answers rather than lobbing softball questions and brown nosing the whole way.

I agree with cyclohexane. Ventura's as straight a shooter as Obama. He projects a persona with a lot of unpolished edges, but under that rough exterior, he's a very smart guy who's given a lot of thought to the problems we face.
I don't always agree with him, but I respect his openness and his honesty.

Obama is not a straight shooter like Ventura at all. Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth. Ventura ran MN's budget into the dirt.

Ventura litterally *fucked* the state of MN. His inability to see past his nose was a primary reason why budgets had to be cut back, why infrastructure was lacking, and why the state educational system was underfunded significantly post-tech bust. My own UofMN:TC tuition went up something like 13% in one year because he "rebated" all of the money back to taxpayers after "projecting" a budget surplus forever. This foolish idea of forever-growth is nothing more than projection stupidity and he fell right into it.
My brother, sister, and parents, who still live in MN, think, while an honest person and somebody who shook up the MN political world, he was a poor governor and shouldn't be considered for running the state again, let alone the country.

I think the next president should be randomly picked from a group of regular joes. Maybe a plumber, like Joe the Plumber, maybe a bus driver, maybe a guy who beats his wife and is an alcoholic. No more of these elites running the show, the US needs a down to earth dolt who doesn't even pretend he's anything but.
This guy is a well known wrestler that involves nothing but drama! So you might want to consider what he's talking about!
