Some nuggets of wisdom from Jesse Jr and others....

the nation?s greatest problem is ?a separate and unequal system? of ?50 separate and unequal states and 3,067 separate and unequal counties [that] must be rooted out root and branch.?

"We ought to have a Constitutional right to fairness!"

?If George W. Bush does not wake us up, we are literally dead!?

?The enemy here is the Tenth Amendment, the unenumerated rights?

Other proposed policies:

* a Constitutional amendment barring anyone from operating an electric power system for profit.

* Democrats can regain power by promising health care, child care, education, and ?no more tax cuts?

This charming vision of America brought to you by some of our friendly members of Congress.

This is why it's so hard to take liberals seriously. I avoid the problem by just ignoring liberals altogether

<< Hmm, sounds communist. >>

Worse than communist. This is someone who has seen what it's like to be free, and is willing to give it up for everyone just for self advancement.

Its idiots like this that give America a bad name. Where the fvck has this idiot been hiding, he is even dumber than his father. This country was founded on states rights, thats what the civil war was about, states' right's, not slavery. Did he not get past the 7th grade?

Probably not, but, he's black, so anyone that opposes him and his hippocritical ways, will be taken to court and be called a rascist. So noone opposes his POS ass for fear of reprisal. Well, lately he's been found out and it's just a matter of time before this piece of sh!t gets what he deserves. I can't tell you how long I have been waiting for this azzhole to get what's coming.

Question: Would it really bad that to have utilities (hydro, gas, electricity) operated on a non-profit basis, perhaps by the state? People seem to insist their country doesn't do enough for them for the most part - these near necessities wouldn't be a bad starting place.

Herein is the temptation of Communism. If viewed in a twisted and very narrow way, it looks wonderful. Some, it seems, are ignorant of what history has taught us. Some are just ignorant......and choose to remain so.

If the fed ran powerplants it would be such a beaurocratic nightmare if we had power at all the price would go through the roof. Ask someone from California.

I hope that isn't true. I seriously doubt Jesse Jackson is against federalism, it has helped minorities a lot.

Jesse Jackson is a Class-A crook. He's been guilty of wholesale tax evasion, fraud, and extortion for years. Does anyone watch the O'Reilly Factor here? :D

PLEASE! Do not call him 'Reverend!' That term is grossly missused in his case and yes, Jr, is his son and a Liberal in the truest sense. Illinois it is I'm sorry to say.

He is the normal 'Black Leader' of the day in that he preaches that without him and others like him, [spelled DEMOCRAT!], blacks cannot be anything without their help. He holds them back. That is how he and others like him hold their power.

He is a graduate of seminary school, and an ordained Baptist minister. Like or dislike his political views, he has earned the right as a man of God to be known as "Reverend." Unless and until such time as he is defrocked, which is unlikely, he is properly and respectfully known as Reverend, just as a judge whom you might disagree with personally or politically is known by the title, "Your Honor."

Although I would need to dig[BIBLE], the term Reverand is not a title just earned through a education! And I give not a damn if it's Baptist or Poltrergists! It means something that neither Jackson is!

How So? Explain how he is a quack. Explain how all the things he has done for this nation and its minorities, how he went on two seperate forign trips against the will of the U.S. and succesfully negotiated a release of hostages. How getting a Medal of Freedom of the U.S., the highest civilian honnor makes him a quack.

Explain how all the things he has done for this nation and its minorities,

You mean all the things that have set them back?

how he went on two seperate forign trips against the will of the U.S. and succesfully negotiated a release of hostages.

There was more than meets the eye in both of those situations. What really happens and what CNN covers are rarely one in the same.

As usual you make it so the brother bears the brunt of the blame, when he said very little and in only respect to healthcare. Not surprised though. Conservatives are good for lying and twisting the truth. Here's the real quotes from the article.

Jesse Jr.'s quotes were in respect to healthcare. And according to the article his only quotes were about healthcare. Here they are:

"Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., of Illinois, brought down the house with a vociferous condemnation of federalism. He said that the nation?s greatest problem is ?a separate and unequal system? of ?50 separate and unequal states and 3,067 separate and unequal counties [that] must be rooted out root and branch.? ?The enemy here is the Tenth Amendment, the unenumerated rights? which permits inequalities to exist. Jackson said the only solution is a much stronger central government for ?one America,? and he proposed a Constitutional amendment guaranteeing every American ?a right to health care of equal high quality [and] a public education of equal high quality.? Such an amendment would allow each person to sue in Federal court in order to secure that health care and education. He shouted, ?We ought to have a Constitutional right to fairness!? so that no one will have an advantage in life by virtue of the circumstances of his birth."

And I know exactly what he is talking about. He's talking about the very different rules concerning healthcare that varys from state to state. And I agree with him. Perfect example. Last year when Autumn was born my wife took maternity leave. Now here's the thing in NJ, we live in NJ, she was only entitled to take 6 weeks paid. But becaue she worked in Phila. PA, under PA law she was entitled to 8 weeks paid and she could take up 16 weeks for maternity leave in total. NJ is 12 weeks total. So it worked out, but very different from state to state indeed.

?If George W. Bush does not wake us up, we are literally dead!? that was from Maxine waters, hehehehehehehe. That sister is a tough cookie. She can go a little overboard at times, but I like her. Here is her quotes:

"While the attendees were digesting their boxed gourmet lunches, Rep. Maxine Waters of Los Angeles stepped forth with a predictably impassioned address. She ran through the standard litany of Republican sins as she challenged the crowd, ?If George W. Bush does not wake us up, we are literally dead!? Waters enumerated alleged voting irregularities throughout the country, particularly citing Philadelphia, Chicago, and Palm Beach, all of which, as she assuredly did not mention, are controlled by the Democratic Party, and she spoke with indignation over the laws in some states that bar ex-felons from voting. Lastly, she lashed out at the influence of the centrist Democratic Leadership Council."

"a Constitutional amendment barring anyone from operating an electric power system for profit."

These are the words from the writer of the article. Here they are:

"In a separate speech, Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio advanced the idea of a Constitutional amendment barring anyone from operating an electric power system for profit."

I don't know that to be true and neither do you unless you were there and heard his speech. He quoted everyone else. But he didn't quote this man's speech. But yet he hurls this accusation. As usual he's summing up this man's speech in his own words like a good conservative. In laymen's terms, he's probably lying about what the guy said to make his article more sensational in its criticism of the Dems.

"* Democrats can regain power by promising health care, child care, education, and ?no more tax cuts?"

That is from the Former Labor secretary here's the words from the article:

"Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich advised the Democrats that they could regain power by promising health care, child care, education, and ?no more tax cuts? to the half of the adult population who regularly fail to vote."

Hmmmm again these are the words from the writer. His own summation of what was said. Again probably a twist on what was really said.

Sounds like some of you need to read the article, some need to post the truth, some need to proof read, and others need to learn how to spell before they criticize any Congressman.

"hippocritical"? Is that in the English dictionary? :)
