POLITICO has not independently confirmed Jacksons resignation. His office did not reply to a request for comment. Jackson, the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times both reported Wednesday, was sending a letter to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to make official his resignation.
But at the same time, newspapers in Chicago reported that the Justice Department has been investigating Jackson for both alleged campaign finance violations.
