Speaking of advertisers on that show, I loled at this from wiki:

"BeenVerified.com, a company that does criminal background checks, rushed over to MTV to take the vacant advertising slots beginning December 10, after Domino's and American Family Insurance pulled their ads.[90] A rep for the company stated, "We may not be hair gel product, but we feel the program's content reinforces our brand's message perfectly."[90]"

That's not an unreal amount. For the entire cast that is only $50,000 per episode. Combine that with absurdly low overhead and a season of only ~10 episodes, and they are still good to do with gravy. Seems doable.

I love how these people are in their 20s but they have the skin of a 50-year-old. Why the hell would you do that to yourself? When they really hit 50 their faces are going to look like a deflated football.

I've never seen an episode but apparently one guy has his own tanning bed in his room. Oh well, I'm sure they needed this extra money to put a down payment on some plastic surgery.

I think only Mike looked real old. Though he was also the oldest at 27. He was the one with the tanning bed. Vinny even said why would you do that to yourself or something to that extent.

While I was one of the millions of people that were awed by the train wreck known as the Jersey Shore, I feel like MTV could just as easily replace all of them with another cast of ridiculous people and still do just as well

85% of the "crazy shit" is planned by and thought of by the producers anyhow

no way! You're telling me that MTV meatheads don't script their reality shows!!!

my dreams are crushed. 🙁

Bringing the same cast back would be retarded. People know them this year and will overreact to their presence even more than last year when they only knew that cameras were following them.

If I were them, I'd milk the shit out of the appearances now because it'll fade fast.

On one hand 10k per episode isn't that much compared to whatever MTV probably pulls in per episode. Not to mention if it is only 10 episodes a season that is a whopping $100k which is a pittance for MTV.

On the other hand paying douchebags 10k/episode so that you can film their douchebaggery seems incredibly stupid.

I think MTV could replace them pretty easily with new people who will do the same shit for less money.

yup. Never underestimate the willingness of foolish douchebags to exploit themselves for a shred of pseudo celebrity exposure.

And it seems that Jersey is overripe with such individuals.

Eh, I've watched the whole season and these really are not that bad of people. Obviously their unique personality characteristics are magnified by being on tv. I'd have fun hanging out with them.

I'm usually against no talent reality stars making demands but $10K is nothing.
Sure MTV can get a new cast but the results are unsure.
In this situation where the demands are low, pay them and its a win-win for both sides.

to bad most of the cast is not from NJ.

i watched it once and couldn't believe the people are real. i mean they have to be actors right? nope. there are really people like this!

god i am glad i don't live in jersey.

if we are going to sterotype nj. then we should be saying 'god im glad i dont live in new york' based on the 'cast' in the show.

Also, there's a reason why MTV chose Seaside Heights as the location for the show. Seaside Heights is not representative of NJ or the shore.
