I've never seen any of the show myself, but I imagine people watch it because it makes them feel better about themselves. I don't see any other reason to waste your time.

I can proudly say I've never watched over 3 minutes of that show total and it was only because I accidentally watched a promo clip.

I'm with you on this. I will however say that the only clip I actually searched for was the scene in a bar where some dude punched her in her fat bitch mouth.

This sums up snooki imo.

'Jersey Shore' canceled

The party's over for the "Jersey Shore" crew: MTV has announced it's ending the fist-pumping reality hit after next season.

Debuting in 2009 (it feels like much longer ago, doesn't it?), "Shore" became a genuine cultural phenomenon with its portrait of eight young guidos and guidettes drinking and fighting their way through a summer on the Jersey shore.

Cast members like Snooki and The Situation became household names, catchphrases were repeated ad nauseum ("Cabs are here!"), and MTV enjoyed the biggest ratings in network history.

I don't know how I'm going to go on now that Jersey Shithole has been canceled. This is too much to handle.

The irony here being that only one of the cast members was actually from Jersey.

The rest were from NY or Rhode Island.

With that said, I love the Jersey Shore beaches.

Good times.

I grew up on Long Island but had relatives in Newark.

So when on the Jersey side I hung out at:

Seaside Park - now closed

Asbury Park ( used to see Springsteen before he made it big time)

Atlantic City

Brigatine Island

It feels like MTV cured cancer!

Have never, will never see the show.

Some of you may be too young to remember, MTV actually was about music. That's what the M stood for! And it wasn't entirely the commercial garbage either.

I only watched one episode, think it was when snooki got punched, and that was a group of friends just to see what the fuss was about. I think we were drunk, which marginally helped.

Same thing happened to our national music channel (much music)
It's mostly all garbage sitcom stuff now, reality shows etc. I remember when I was younger I'd come home from school at lunch and spend half an hour while I ate just watching the countdown, all music videos. Used to be a great channel.

and Snooki is actually Puerto Rican, iirc. I think half of them aren't even of Italian descent.
