If you can't think of anything nice to post about someone...

true.

It's just the way the OP phrased it that's hilarious😱

The fact is that the man achieved popularity to such a point that he became a household name. For better or for worse, he was able to take his ideas and make a big impact on a large part of the country and perhaps the world.

We can learn from him, whether his actions and intentions were good and/or bad.

Lets get two things straight.

1: Jerry never provided any positive messages to the people. He was a terrible human being.

2: There is no need for bad examples for one to be a good person. I for one do not need to see bad human beings to put myself in perspective. I like to think that I was raised well, and I also understand what it is to be kind without the need for a negative example. That's like saying we need good and bad. That's simply not true, although it does happen in reality at the fault of the individual, not because "thats the way it is".

Anyway, I'm not directing this AT you, just to you.

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."

"In the 1980s Jerry Falwell was an outspoken supporter of the Apartheid regime in South Africa. When president PW Botha was elected President by the White South African minority, Reverend Falwell went to South Africa and made statements supporting the government there and urging American Christians to buy Krugerrands, a coin issued by the South African Government[4]. He drew the ire of many when he called Nobel Peace Prize winner and Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu a phony. He later apologized for that remark and claimed that he had misspoken"

if i believed in hell i would say he was going to burn there

okay. I did not know that.

horrible horrible man:|

I hope they recite Matthew 7 at his funeral.

Matty 7

Kinda long...basically, it says that God will tell him "Get out."

Hopefully God will take the form of a very angry Samuel Jackson when he does it....

Maybe he'll work in a Snakes on a Planes reference too..... but I know I would make sure I had Jackson's jerry curl from Pulp Fiction also 😛

I also like to think that I was raised well as well, and still find that knowledge and intelligence are two things which always need to go together. Our intelligence is indeed capable, but realistically, our wisdom and experience is a necessity for "good" to thrive.

We live in an imperfect world with imperfect people (myself included by all means), and while ideally we don't need a control of bad to dictate what is good, in the real world we do.

The man had great influence, and it would be in our best interests to learn from it.....to learn why as a people, we let him gain such influence.

That said, most people can figure it out in a few seconds😱

Forum glitch?
yeh, that's gotta be it. 😛

You know what... We're all going to hell, now that we're openly judging the man.

::sigh:: oh well, lucky I'm an atheist! 😛

Isn't he the guy who was in an uproar because he thought that Tinky Winky was gay? Furthermore, he accused the Teletubbies of furthering the homosexual agenda and tried to get the show banned in the U.S.

That is about the only thing I remember him for. What a legacy.

I really don't see the point of holding back criticism because he's changed status from "living" to "dead".

Then again, I tend to feel that we'd benefit from having a real-life organization of Speaker(s) of the Dead.

Whats the difference between judging someone and voicing our opinion?
