Jerky DivX...

I built a new system recently, and installed FFDShow and the Nimo Codec pack. However, since then when I play DivX files in WMP 9 or MPC or any media player but VLan, the movies kind of "jerk" along (like slow-motion jerkiness). Does anyone know what the cause of this is?

if you're using dual monitors, unplug one or enable both monitors. i started having that problem with DVD playback, WMP files, AVIs.

no, not disabling it. i mean actually UNPLUGGING IT from the video card.

And you're saying with both monitors enabled, you're still having this problem?

Sorry, nothing is plugged in, only the one monitor. I tried disabling the secondary through device manager in hopes that would solve the problem, but to no avail. It occurred when both monitors were enabled.

try removing all of those codecs and installing k-lite's codec pack. i only use that one and am able to play pretty much all divx/xvid movies.

Sounds like a codec conflict, but it's hard to say.

All your DivX movies are doing this?

Bah! This is why I dislike posting problems on AT, I always feel like such a n00b becuase the solution is so easy and I just overlook it. 😉 Thanks a bunch, everything works now, and I'll try to think a little more in the future.
