It's been pretty cool across Canada this week, except here in Ontario. Been hot and dry.

Global warming = just another phase this planet might be going thru.

Do we effect it? Maybe, BIG maybe.

Does it matter? No it doesn't because we have no alternative energy source and there is no magic.

Best solution? rather than restrict/regulate automakers for few MPG here and there, how about we apply that to the biggest polluters on this planet (cargo ships). 15 Cargo ships can create as much pollution as ALL of worlds cars. But of course going after big business is a no go.

Better yet, how about not overpopulating this planet???

It's been mostly 70s to low 80s all summer in Portland. We definitely haven't hit 90.

I could never live somewhere with muggy, hot miserable summers.

The global temperature is rising, but some areas will see cooling.

not sure how it's global then. should be renamed "cyclic temperature variations depending on season and location with respect to other climate systems: aka completely fucking random"

Seems legit.

But it is!

"It takes 43.3 square meters of land to produce 1 kilo of chicken per year - far more for beef and lamb - and 13.4 square meters to produce a kilo of cereals. So that gives the dog a footprint of 0.84 hectares. For a big dog such as an alsation or labrador, the figure is 1.1 hectares.
Meanwhile, an SUV such as a 4.6-liter Toyota Land Cruiser, driven a about 6000 miles a year, uses 55 gigajoules, which includes the energy required both to fuel and to build it. One hectare of land can produce approximately 135 gigajoules of energy per year, so the Land Cruiser's environmental footprint is about 0.40 hectares - less than half that of an average sized dog."
