Srry. I hit enter. Um ya theres major jerkiness and lag when I play CSS. I have 4 256mb stiks of RAM at 2.85v( no change at stock volt), 3200+ on a Hyper 48, and a Gigabyte K8nxp-SLI. This began happening about 6 months ago, and I'm thinking that the RAM is bad. Is it? Or do I need to buy a new NorthBridge cooler?

Run memtest bootable to check your ram. Let it pass 3 or 4 times and see if you get any errors. What gfx card you running? Could be a heat issue , idk. Post your spec's including temps. ;)

Ya srry about that. I have a 3D-1, average temp around 55C, ambient 20C, 2D, and around 59C, same ambient, after 8 hrs of CSS. I have the stock Chipset cooler, but I put sum AS5 on it. Think about it for the nite, i gotta get sum sleep. I got a major test tomorow, and I need to cram badly. Also my chipset is running at about 70C(!) with a 80mm suking hot air off it plus the ,stock MCP active cooling is still running.

Your temp monitor may be off for the chipset. However, if it's correct, that's insane.

Ya its correct. I check it every few minutes when Im running. Should i follow MechBgon's guide with using the outdated GPU cooler to cool it off? Or do I need to really save up for RAM? Im a moneyless student, and the chipset cooling would be easier to replace.

what are you using to check your temp monitor....
you should be using an outside program ro verify that what your reading is correct...

It's only like 2 weeks old. And my dad retested it when we got it. So I get new sticks of RAM instead!
