Jericho and the new US flag

I liked this show because it was so believable-- I'm one for conspiracy theories so I may be biased, but the show made it very easy for me to imagine such a thing happening.

The new US flag in particular, and how the camera focused on it several times in this episode were especially effective in setting and maintaining the mood. I guess it felt so creepy because it was so close to home. Can you imagine seeing this flying? What does it mean? What is the new government? They refer to him as "president" but is it democracy? What is it until order is established? Facism? Dictatorship? In the US? Will those in power relinquish theirs when the time comes?

This show has so much more potential than the incredible story it's already told thus far.

For those of you just joining, you can watch the full episodes on CBS's website; just google "Jericho".

It's definitely a show worth checking out. Much more rewarding than 24.

i'm glad cbs brought it back. hopefully the ratings are good enough for them to do more than 7 more episodes.

Jericho was the city the Israelites went apeshit on after they got to the Promised Land. If the show is about some hardcore Jews bringin the heat, sign me up.

Iran and North Korea were blamed, but that was clearly just propaganda.

Domestic terrorism. That's all we know so far.

Well, Season one of Jericho > 24 S6. I would also say that Jericho S1 ~= 24 S1 but Jericho S1 < 24 S2-5.

Though those 2 countries got a few nukes just to be sure there isn't anyone to counter the claims.

(One of) the guy(s) who organized the whole attacks (coordinated domestic terror cells ranging from anarchists to fundamentalists) is currently high up in the western government, the one that recently occupied Jericho.

I love when Hawkins is talking to his buddy about the current state of affairs, and the old government is loosing ground to the new government, but there is a wildcard independant territory that is powerful enough to swing the tide either way once they pick a side ... Texas. hahaha, I love Texas.

I was impressed with the way they took it, but don't think it is sustainable if every episode is like this premiere. I think they can pull it off if CBS doesn't pull a skiffy and kill it via timeslot.

That being said, they skipped over the political situation of the Southeast. They mentioned in season 1 that a number of states sent delegates to meet in Montgomery. The old administration is based in the North, whereas the new map showed that there was indeed another faction/government in the Southeast. I wonder if the "virus" on the news crawler that they contained west of the Missisippi was what hit that area (besides the Atlanta nuke).

apparently it only got a 4.3, which isn't good by network standards. they really want to axe this show, changing the day and time on fans.

This is really sad, but I stopped watching the show because they use that damn graduated ND filter on almost EVERY outdoor shot (trying to make the sky look darker). Its really noticeable and annoys the piss out of me.

I thought CBS was going to take the streaming viewers into account as well this time? These ratings are pretty crap though. They need to scrap that system.

There are a lot of people who like to point to science as there savior.

Let me ask ya this.

What does the scientific community say about World population in relationship to World resources?

In the NWO. I would imagine that they . The ones pushing for one world government. Are perfectly aware that the world population has to be reduced to 2 billion.

I would Imagine they will work something out for each country so as to make all the leaders happy.

Now Jericho is interesting. But fiction. But it will be interesting how the overpopulation of Mother earth will be worked out.

If you don't believe that 2 billion is the number of people that earth can continually support I sugjest you research it.

I think it might be more than just "Terrorism". Possibly Military or other part of the former Government.

I just googled it and the number is actually 3.6 billion. Google does not lie. I suggest you research it. ;)
