Jeremy Clarkson video on Amazon Prime Drone Delivery

I wonder if the producers of that commercial appreciated the irony of having Jeremy Clarkson use the phrase "but better to behave like a rational human being..."

Pretty badass. It's only gonna be a matter of time.

I was wondering if the copter just dropped it off if it was pouring outside, but even so I guess there would be a person home that could run out right away and get the package before it gets soaked and the cardboard gets waterlogged and more-or-less melts.

At first when I heard of drone delivery, I pictured a pilot would be used to fly the thing. By the sound of it, the drone looks completely autonomous and high tech as well. Amazon is taking this pretty seriously and aren't cheaping out on it.

Transportation we can believe in.

The Amazon target laid out on the ground looks interesting. It shows that they are thinking through the possible problems with this setup. With the person putting out the target they are showing the drone where to land instead of the drone trying to pick a landing spot.

Wait until some prankster prints one out full size and lays it in the middle of the road near the house it's supposed to go to and a truck runs it over.

I am sure that Amazon is running through thousands of different scenarios, including pranksters trying this. The actual target might be issued by Amazon, similar to the Dash Buttons. The target would include some type of RF transponder that puts out a unique signature so the Drone will only land on that specific target.
