well this is definitely off topic, but who watched? i decided to tune in because i heard it was going to happen.

i don't know if he always bet like that on double jeopardies (lol) but that is obviously what cost him... although, wow... 2.5 mil. imagine the PCs you'd be buildin with that cake... i'd try to build a holodeck. LOL

Perhaps fluke is a wrong way of putting it, but something was very odd about his loss.

My mom's answer was UPS. If you misread white-collar as blue-collar, then a shipping company would make sense during the holiday season.

Nope. Jeopardy does not give any prize money until after the loss is aired. They tell contestants they will expect to receive the prize money between 1 - 120 days after this date. And from reading the official Jeopardy discussion forums, all contestants receive the money near the 120 days later.
