Grats man!

Welcome back. Long time no see!

Phil

Thanks!

I think it's yet to be determined if I'm "back".
Something tells me that I might be fairly busy for a while!

Congrats! hows DA lil jello? And momma jello?

Lil jello is doing great. We had a little trouble at the beginning with his latch (possibly as a side effect of the suction cup used to help pull him out at the end).
He's doing much better now and gaining weight by the day.

Momma jello is doing well too. We've had a lot of help from family so far, which is helping us recover.

Well done Sir and congrats on the baby and mommy being safe!

Thank you!
I tend to worry a lot (getting better over the last couple years), so my main concern was for everyone to be healthy. Many years ago I spent a lot of time around neglected / unhealthy babies in a foster environment. My fear was that lil Jello would need a lot more care than expected and our future plans would need to change to match.
So far, so good!

congrats, he is beautiful.

I'm glad you think so.
I thought I'd be able to be objective on deciding if we had an ugly one, but I fully admit to being biased at this point.

A photographer took these on day 2 at the end of our hospital bed with some sort of trickery magic.

There's always room for Jello.

Bravo Mom and Dad! Now prepare for the next 18 years...:D

\my best to your family!

Maybe more like 25 years =P
We'll see how long he wants to hang out in our basement posting on forums and playing Half Life 3.

Congratulations! I think I'd have gone with Puddin' over Jello. It's gonna be confusing in the house having two people with the same name :^P

We have another nickname for him just in case, "Zojirushi"

Been following along! Congrats! :)

Thanks! Good to see you at the wedding. No AT contingent at the birth though.

So that's what you've been doing with your pudding pop!

Yes, lots of changes lately. It's been a great experience so far.

YOyoYOhowsDAbottles! CONGRATS man!! Welcome to the club! ;)

Thanks! It feels a lot like "ATOT night crew" based on the hours for now.

congrats! My boy spent a month in the NICU ( he was 8 weeks early) but he's a happy healthy 3 and half year old now. One word of advice, don't blink, he will grow fast!

Jello Jr was already 5 days overdue when he came out, so thankfully it was just a quick stop at the NICU for us (more precautionary for him).

He's already changed a lot since we brought him home, so I believe it!
His head is a lot less cone-shaped for one, Ha!

born in march = superior human. :)

My sister would agree =D

Wow, good job kid. :awe:
Enjoy watching and nurturing him growing up, he'll be a teen before you know it.

I'm sure he'll get lots of great advice from AT Love&Relationships and other areas :awe:

wow, grats YoYo!

Awesome! Congrats!

Congrats!

Congrats!

Thank you!

Welcome back and congrats on the birth of Baby Jello! (<-- future screen name)

Hope you have been well.

I better let him pick his own screen name. It was tough going for the first year or so with my crazy name.

I've been great. I do miss the engineering challenges and videos, but I've been super busy with all the other aspects of life so I'm barely able to check into AV&HT occasionally.

Excellent. Someone to replenish our supply of Lifers here. :sneaky:

I have a feeling he'll fit right in here.

Welcome, future nerd :D

If grandma and grandpa have a similar influence on him, I'm sure he's well on the way to becoming one.

DesGrand.jpg

When are you going to start feeding him jello?

Congrats!

Just mom's milk for now, but we'll see. Maybe he'll like jello (unlike me).

Congrats!!!!!!!!!

Does this mean you're back?

It's probably the case that I'm even less back =P

Does he have a home theater system yet?

Not yet, he lives in a jungle for now.

DesJungle.JPG

I hope so... I want more random youtube videos.

I have a feeling they'd all be baby videos for a while :hmm:

And more T shirt designs. :) Grats yo yo!

Oh, and I have a few questions about my home theater...

My current creativity levels are low :|
There are some very helpful folks who frequent the AV&HT section who would probably be much more responsive than I am.
Believe it or not, I've almost stopped following the whole new technology scene (I bought an Oppo to replace my dying PS3, but that's pretty much the only thing I've thought about).

Congratulations! :)

Congrats man!

congrats!

Thanks!

Good luck and conratulations.

Now here's the scoop. One of two things will happen

Your son will be an easy baby and sleep well meaning in a couple of years you'll think to yourself, "That wasnt so bad." So you'll have another one.

Or

Your son will not sleep well making you into a walking zombie.
Exhaustion over the next several months will preven the formation of long term memories and in a few years you'll think to yourself, "That wasnt so bad." So you'll have another one.

;)

Oh dear :\

Our plan is to see how this one goes and then decide what to do. It sounds like the answer is already "yes" though :awe:

Congrats and welcome back. Funny since I was thinking recently how I have not seen you post in like forever.

Hope you stocked up on sleep.

I tried and failed to stock up :|

Wtfbbq you didn't waste any time huh. Conglats.

Nope!
Met --> House --> Married --> Kid

Fast track!

Congrats man! Glad the little dude made it ok. I hope you don't mind not sleeping for awhile.

It's going well so far with all the help, but we'll see how it goes when it's just the two of us taking care of him :awe:

He shares my birthday. Congrats!

Uh oh...

Awesome!

Now you can make an MS Paint animation about the whole ordeal.

What has been seen cannot be unseen.
I think I'll keep this event private... hehehe

Grats.

Welcome to indentured servitude.;)

That sounds about right. We'll see how we feel after the initial euphoria wears off :hmm:

Congrats!!

They're so cute when they can't talk back :p

Any bets on his first word?

congrats jello!

time to start building a hifi setup for a crib! How about 12 speakers spread around the crib with 12 inch subs underneath!

I'll start thinking :awe:
We received some CDs of music from around the world for him already, so the source material is there.
Hopefully it won't be a system used to play the same song for hours on end.

Congrats Jello!

grats yoyo!

Congrats, Jello!

Thanks!

So cute. Glad mom and baby are fine. Enjoy that little one!

We're trying to enjoy him as much as I can while I'm home from work (2 weeks).
That's why it's taking me a while to respond back to you all :D

Congrats! Now take a picture of him in a AT crab onesie! :awe:

Best I could do so far
Des7.jpg

how is babby formed?

Indeed. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to have to worry about that when I joined the forum

Hah you got that right!

Stay strong, stay calm, and never give in. :)

you have a beautiful family Jello man. Congrats.

I know it!

Here they are a little more awake compared to the initial ordeal

Awake.jpg

You helped a 15 year old me with audio stuff when I first registered here in 2006.

Love the pics. Thanks for sharing!

Glad I could help out.
Believe it or not, spending all the time on AT has really helped me with my career. It's in education research rather than anything tech related, but I learned a lot about interpreting questions people are asking and explaining things in a way appropriate to a variety of audiences.

Fun!

I hope I'm not overdoing it with the pictures.
