Another thought is there’s probably insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges against Trump and that’s if the statute of limitations wouldn’t have expired anyway.

That might explain why no deal was made as reducing someone’s sentence just to embarrass political opponents doesn’t seem like something Biden would do.

In an interview with Real America’s Voice, the far-right network created to host Steve Bannon’s podcast, Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the FBI should investigate what he called “the Jeffrey Epstein hoax” as part of a criminal conspiracy against him.

Trump went on to suggest that all of the files from the federal investigation into his late friend, the convicted sex offender Epstein, should not be released because they might include false information about him planted there by his Democratic rivals.

“All they have to do is put out anything credible,” Trump said, of the justice department’s decision not to release all of the Epstein files. “But, you know, that was run by the Biden administration for four years. I can imagine what they put into files,” Trump added.

He then suggested that files from the justice department’s investigation of the notorious sex trafficker and pedophile Epstein, who was arrested and died in jail in 2019 during Trump’s first term, were somehow as likely to be fake as allegations made against him in the Steele dossier.

I was only guessing about this Epstein news before, but this latest news quoting Trump seems to betray his personal worries along with his suspicions.

If Epstein killed himself, could the aftermath tempt Trump to do the same? If it unfolded thusly, I would disturb the peace of my local town in celebrating and cheering. The only thing we wouldn't have after such a suicide would be the "Zapruder re-make" we could play over and over again -- better than a zillion streaming subscriptions for entertainment.

To be clear; Biden wouldn’t do it because Biden wouldn’t be involved in such decisions. Unlike Trump, Biden and pretty much every other president understood that the DOJ should be as independent as possible.

I'm no lawyer but I suspect disclosing confidential information about a case that was not presented in court by the government would be a significant ethics violation that might get her disbarred. Maybe there's some civil liability there? I don't think anything else though and what are they going to do, fire her?
