Why can't Bondi release whatever she had on her desk in February? or there was nothing on her desk except her Starbucks ration and the daily nutty MAGA talking points? She was all too delighted to provide the right-wing "influencers" with "Phase 1" binders. They're trying to maintain that Epstein's list is as non-existent as the list of Trumps trade deals.

Out of curiosity, do people here think that the Democratic party's response to the Epstein scandal is all that different to the GQP's?

IMO it stinks of the Trump scandal all over again, and the difference between a party that did little or nothing to see that justice was promptly served and the GQP saying, "crime, what crime?" is a distinction that's barely worth making at all.

It's two approaches to the same issue, information that can't be released.
My hunch is Trump thought they could just leave out the names of people he doesn't want trashed, but discovered that isn't possible. At this point the only solution is for all of the information to be accidentally destroyed and someone fired for allowing it to happen.

Btw, I don’t think this issue is a Republican thing or a Democrat thing, it’s a Trump thing. Normally presidents don’t meddle in such affairs but we know that’s not the case with Trump.

As I said, ensure that justice was promptly served. It's tricky to end up with an outcome that is both thorough and unbiased, but the government letting the DoJ know that this is considered a high priority and if there is anything that can be done to remove potential obstacles then the DoJ should let the government know, and to vet those involved in the investigation to make sure they don't have vested interests in stalling, and to outmanoeuvre any biased judges so they don't get involved.

Trump would have had difficulty running for re-election from behind jail bars if justice had been promptly served.

It certainly ought not to be, but the fact of the matter is that Americans have two conservative parties to choose from, at which point doing the right thing often falls into the four-stage strategy:


I think there is pressure on both political parties to ensure that the Epstein list isn't made public, rather like (IIRC) the Panama papers resulting in those involved in bringing them to light getting suicided shortly after.

I wonder whether the Biden administration's biggest mistake with Trump was to assume that the DoJ would do their jobs in a timely manner and that any judges involved would also do their jobs morally correctly. If so, they were pretty fucking naive.
