So I'm wondering since Trump does possess those special traits that every paranoid despot is and have been known for, if given a free hand to do as he pleases, would Trump submit to his urges and take personal control of our free press, intelligence services and the judiciary as he seems wont to do?

Jeff Flake is a true middle class legislator. Given what he has done for the monied class in the past year, I expect him to become a mutli-millionaire in the next three years. If I remember I will revive this thread in a couple years to confirm this prediction. If he does become a multi-millionaire within two years of leaving of office, he should be prosecuted for accepting bribes and the people who made him rich prosecuted as well.
