Jeep is joining the Tokyo concept fray with the Treo - not a Handspring PDA/phone, but a three-seat ("two plus gear," also, according to Jeep) off-roader based on a compact-car chassis. A fuel-cell powerplant with zero emissions is anticipated by the design, as is an electric powertrain that would give the Treo all-wheel drive. The classic Jeep seven-slot grille is in evidence on the stubby nose; the rear seats fold flat to allow a third passenger or a mountain bike to ride in back. That would be kind of a neat thing to have, if it were free or if I were uber rich and wanted a new toy. For my daughter. 😀
 
that is uglier than the jeep concept vehicle (it had independent suspension front and rear and the bastards are calling it "Willy's" :|) i saw last weekend

I used to applaud chrysler for making so many of their concepts into production cars. If that makes it though.......

So will they eventually kill the Jeep and make it into a strictly pavement cruiser? The grand is slated to lose its solid front axle isn't it? That just leaves the wrangler....how long will it go unmolested......

I can see the Hummer H2 commercials now... A R/C Treo is crawling over some pebbles in a driveway and then a huge H2 pulls up and crushes it as some kids run out of the house to help unload groceries.
 
Looks better than those silly cars running around the streets these days sitting so low to the ground they bottom out when they pull into a parking lot. And spoilers!? ha! Give me a break, that's about the dumbest thing to put on a street car since, since well I can't think of anything dumber.
