<< As a preventative measure, the Chrysler Group will recall 2000-2002 Jeep Wranglers, 2000-2001 Jeep Cherokees and 1999-2002 Jeep Grand Cherokees with 4.0 Liter engines to reduce the possibility of debris accumulation in the engine compartment that could potentially cause a fire. There have been no accidents or injuries related to this issue.

The Chrysler Group determined a design change made to the engine manifolds modified the underhood airflow, which in rare cases could lead to debris accumulation in the engine compartment. While this situation is uncommon, the Chrysler Group will attach a shield in the manifold area to prevent this from occurring.

This affects 182,044 2000-2002 Jeep Wranglers, 293,968 2000-2001 Jeep Cherokees and 639,310 1999-2002 Jeep Grand Cherokees.

Good find. Go figure; an American car manufacturer recalling yet another one of it's products. Not that the Jeep-line hasn't had numerous recalls for most of the past decade or so. I'll take my foreign SUV, thanks very much.

This morning the Focus, this afternoon, the Jeeps. NFS4 is on it!!!

it says nothing has happened. not like the japanese or germans never recall anything.

Okay I take my jeep driving around in the woods and don't have a problem with underhood "debris accumulation." I can't imagine having enough dried up foliage under the hood to start a fire!

Well at least it's not for something a bit more dangerous, like hmm, brakes comes to mind. 😉

Jeep still > all those "OTHER" 4x4s. 😉 😀
