The game runs fine on XP 64 for me. The installer however, will not. I think massassi has some instructions on how to get to install, but I just copied the folder over from my other drive and ran jk.exe.

Yeah, it seems they're playing a bit fast and loose with the definition of the 16th. Part of me wonders if its all a hoax since the most specific information we have on this is from a fucking twitter account!

I'm not sure the CD version will be compatible with the steam version for multiplayer. Unless they literally just dumped the old CD version up for download with no copy protection added.

I remember in FF battles there used to be a lot of saber purists that wouldn't use any other weapon, confident in the power of force pull disarming. I used to use thermal detonators on those guys. Force pull just yanks a single thermal detonator from your hand so you can just pull out another one and continue kiting them. :p

I can't remember how many times I was kicked for "hacking" from MotS multiplayer for killing jedi with the scout rifle. (It does double damage for the scout)

So many (cheap) memories of force jump + force grip + force pushing people off bottomless pits.

Good times. MP in this game was just too damn fun.

Let me know when you guys want to play. I'll dominate!!! I'm not used to the speed of force speed... It's freaking crazy. I don't remember it being so fast.

One thing I didn't like about this game (and a lot of older FPS games actually) was the movement speed was retardedly fast. Couple that with force speed and its insano time. At least in JK its somewhat tempered by the fact that you can crash into a wall and kill yourself if you're not careful!

You get them and let us know how they work. :p

I'm not pumped to play those games on Windows 7 64-bit. I doubt they will even run.

That's putting it lightly...

Don't buy the game at all if you have an ATI card.

Holy bullshit. Talk about half ass. Many of the games problems could be fixed easily if the source code was available.

Well, at least I won't have to worry about the unofficial patches not being compatible with the only version that works with modern video cards...because that version DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST!

I like how they put a disclaimer on there: Didn't do jack shit nothin' to fix anything at all, just dumped it on steam and you're on your own.

Regardless of XP versus Vista/7, 32-bit versus 64-bit?

If you have a new ATI card put this in the shortcut target: -devmode -displayconfig -windowgui

Then go to setup: 1024x768 8bpp, Disabled 3D Accereration, SW: Non-3d DIBsection windowed display, SW RenderDroid 1, Perspect, Texture, Full

Some of the options will be in the "advanced" bottom tab in setup->Display. Works fine then, but you only get 8bit and there are some maps/mods that use 16-bit. :(

It's only a short term fix.

I would go with 32-bit XP if you can.

Game works great in Virtual Box WinXP 32-bit. :)

Windows 7 64-bit... that's another story... WAY MORE TROUBLESOME..

Yeppers.

It's kinda what I expected from steam. They did the same shit with other games.

On a side note: if any of you get it up and running well, let me know. :) I would love to play.

This sucks. I was hoping to get DF2 going easily on Win7 x64.

Is Jedi Academy any good? I never played it, partly because I didn't really enjoy Outcast very well.

:/

I liked it somewhat. Idk if it'll work on Win 7 though. I would wait and watch the forums.
