Hi,
I got JK:JA on friday, and as of 5 minutes ago, was progressing quite well.
Now, im stuck on it.
Im upto the mission with the Mutated & Huge Rancor. WTF do i do to beat it? Weapons dont work on it. Neither does lightening, or grip. I have no idea what i have to do.
For reference, its not the first rancor you come accross, its the one after you pick your new lightsaber.

Oh, and on a side note, what type of Lightsaber did you pick when you got the choice, what hilt, and what colour. (just curious). I chose double ended, blue, champion hilt.

Thanks in advance.

i chose 2 lightsabers, 1 green and 1 blue. i don't remember the hilts. anyways, run around and look for switches to press. you need to hit all the switches. it gets stuck in some at one point. you do need to get into a room that has controls that should trigger a scene that says, to do stuff with the belt. look for that. switches. btw, speed in that board is awesome. especially if you just use speed and run around cuz then you can leave the rancor to kill all the remant siths.

So..
When i start off, i activate every switch i find?
I can only find the one switch though, the one at the far end of the room you start in. And all that does it raise a container up in the air.

Doesnt matter now, ive done it. I noticed something that i didnt before, a door opens in the second room. So i went through it, and carryed on from there. Quite easy after that.
Ive done all the other listed missions that there are, fought Boba(very easy, speed, then jump over him and lop his head off!).
I`m now at the beggining of getting rosh out of the imperial base. Ive saved there, and will probably pick it up again tomorrow.
Thanks for the help guys.

Hey, on the 3rd level after defusing the bombs, how do you get back to your ship?
Anyone got a link to a walkthru?

You go back in the way you came :) I think the corridoor that had the fire and stuff blowing out the pipes takes you back...

I found 3 walkthroughs there.

Thx for the tip.

I am wondering, though if my game has a glitch cause I still find two locked doors on 3rd level and can't find my way back to the ship after defusing the bombs.

Just completed it!! As a "light" Jedi.
Will redo as "dark" Jedi tomorrow, probably.
The decision for the above is very simple. It comes near the end of the game, and ive saved at that point so i can re-decide.

At the end of a set of missions do you get to train? I finished the 1st set and it took me back to the training temple and I wasn't able to train at all like you do inbetween missions.

Been playing as a dark jedi, much more fun squeezing the life out of people and using them as meat shields muhahahah!

No training. At all.
The return to the Academy is just to show cutscenes.

The actual dark/light choice is made near the end of the game.
So you can play the game with all the dark powers on max, and no light powers, but you will still be neutral, despite what Kyle says every now and then.

BTW, apparently I did encounter a glitch trying to finish the 3rd level.
THere were two or three doors that remained locked trying to get back to the ship.
Restarted the level, played it through a second time and then the doors opened.

Actually, it is.
The missions are far more varied, and some missions involve no LS combat at all.
You get to race on speeders, recover parts for your ship on a planet thats sands are crawling with monsters, fight siths on a high speed tram, ect;
Its far better than JK2 imo.

I'd say yes.

enjoyed the demo but is the game one hell of alot of fun?

I'm having a great time with it.

much else new besides the lightsaber choices?

Besides the mini games that Boom mentioned, the force power progression system has changed. You have your set of core powers that progress at the same time when you clear a set of missions and they you have your elective powers which you can pick and chose. The lightsaber differences don't show up until a bit into the game, it isn't like the demo where you can pick right off.

They added several moves to the game, running on walls, new flips you can pull off, and the saber techiques utilized by the different style of lightsabers are all pretty cool. There are new types of enemies to do battle with, some of which are pretty cool. The story line isn't as good as JKII, but I don't think its nearly as bad as most review sites are making it. The game is a lot less puzzle based then the first one, more combat oriented which makes the game pacing faster then the last game, but I think it works quite well. Difficulty has been notched down a decent amount also, enough so that you will likely want to play at one difficulty setting higher then you did in the first game to be close to the same challenge on the combat front. I haven't played all the way through the game yet, so I can't comment on the length although I am close and it isn't too long, that may be the biggest drawback(although I'm already planning on playing through again if that tells you anything :) ).

This is actually my first Jedi game and I am loving it more then I thought I would. It's not your typical shooter as you have to think a little to get around some situations, the levels have been pretty fun so far and none of them have been like the others. The speeders were a blast to fly on as were riding in the AT-STs (I think that's what it is called), the mission with Coruscant in it looked amazing to me. I guess I like it so much because it's the game I hoped Star Wars Galaxies would have been if they did jedi right.

Oh and then there's multiplayer :)

not into this for mp, miltuplayer on outcast sucked. the guns were NOT made for a deathmatch and the lightsaber fighting got tweaked everytime you turned around, nevermind that most people knew how it worked and the duelling turned into lots of jump kicking and saber throwing

it really blew

IMO, single player was a little bit of a let down. the missions didn't really flow together well. it seemed a little too easy, especially the final boss. i am going to play through it again on jedi master difficulty and also go through it choosing to go to the darkside, just to try and get a feel that this game was worth the money.

DF was good. As was DF2. For their time.
I think JA is the best of the DF/JK series. IMO.
