Radio shack is going out of the car audio business so everything there is atleast 50% off. I saw a few sub's for like $20-30.

sure, but I'll take JBL's over that optimus junks any day~!

(go figure, I just bought a sub from ebay, and this comes outta CC. >(

Sounds like a decent deal. I might grab one of these. As for Radio Shack. I work there and do agree that the Optimus stuff leaves a little to be desired. Buy the Optimus or Radio Shack brands only if the price is right. Actually they discontinued the Optimus line. We are selling all Pioneer Head units now and XM Satelite radio. Not sure if this is just our store or not though...

Anyway, JBL is decent and the price is right on these. Good Post.

i dont think there are any more left in so. cal....none in westwood, fox hills , national/sepulveda, or la cienega....

tho i think there is one last closed box one in the hollywood store....it came up on the computer....

On a cheap sub I wouldn't, a sealed box will give more control and tighter bass, will also prevent the sub from blowing apart at lower frequencies.

Wow, I have been building up my car stereo system. Thank you for the post. I picked up the last pair from Union Square, New York.

You're probably right. I saw a picture of an enclosure in a catalog that came with my subwoofer amp that had a dual-ported enclosure for a 100watt amp. Anyway, there's a lot of factors that have to be considered in determining the best enclosure for a given speaker/amp. 🙂
