Seems kinda expensive for practical use compared to using cdr's or cdrw's...

It looks to me that they only have only one drive unless they have a bunch of them with damaged box.

agreed,

this deal is for those who believe in the tape!

I like usin gmy jazz drive ALOT. I use it waaayy more than my rewriter

its just more convienient to pakage 2gb worth of useable info that needs to be accessed frequently. switching discs is just a pain, but costs a whole lot less....

It's INTERNAL SCSI.

The damaged box is NOT good. This has a bad feeling about it, but I almost did it when I saw that the drive is $214 at buy.com WITHOUT a 2 G cartridge, and that the cartridge alone is worth a hundred bucks.

They are now on backorder, so they must have more coming in, but the terms and conditions said "3.Customer must pack defective items being returned as if they were new and working. Failure to do so may invalidate both the RMA and the warranty."

Why would the return of DEFECTIVE goods need to be returned like that? Don't they need to go back to the factory to be fixed?

No, this is standard. SOme people are simply stupid and don't know how to operate the equipment. FUrther, a poor packing job could break it more.

hee hee.... maybe they just want to juggle with the product, send it to the customer, have the customer return it, and send it to a new customer!

These are ultra delicate:p Atleast in my experience. Overall usability - cdrw wins. Otherwise just buy urself some massive hd's.. they are so cheap now

Zucchini,

You say "These are ultra delicate Atleast in my experience."

What is your experience? I have seen people carry them around in their brief cases.
