I am having a javascript issue. I am running XP pro on PIII. resourses not a problem. My hardware or software config has not changed for a while, except for possibly (?) a couple of games (battlefield demo).
Problem 1. I used to be able to play games at Candystand. As I understand as we get on the webpage, it runs a javascript for animation. When you click on a game (or a link for log in or registration etc), it again runs a javascript, which in turn opens macromedia flash player, which then opens the game. Well, all these used to occur just fine until about a couple of months ago. Now, the website opens without animation, the links do not run the javascript. When I pass the cursor over the link the window in left bottom shows that it is going to run a javascript, but nothing happens. I have tried to install, uninstall, reinstall java runtime (latest 1.4 from java), macromedia flash player etc. several times without help. When I test any of these component or when installed they are working just fine. At many websites the animation also show. at other websites eg Nabisco. I can play many of the same games without problem.
Problem 2. When I log on to workplace from home it goes through secure conncection using citrix client. Along with above problem, I can not log on to work either. I know that citrix is called in (when I click the secondary link for workplace connection) using javascript.
problem 3: This may be unrelated to java. I commonly keep my username and some passwords "remembered" on my computer. When I go to those sites where these usernames (and passwords in some cases) are supposed to be remembered, now, I have to type in these info everytime.
