Ok, totally new to Windows 8.1 I have a couple of programs that need Java and I feel like a noob....I installed Java in c drive but only use it for the OS. my programs run off of L: drive and say they need java to work properly. I am confused as to what to do. reinstall into L: drive or did I do something wrong?

Ron, it seems most likely that the programs are looking for a different version of Java than what you have installed. Everything is tied to the OS (no matter which drive the majority of the data is installed on) so you are correct that C is where Java should be installed.

deleted any reference to Java and reinstalled(minus the bloat) all is good...LOL
Thanks for the help 🙂
