java web plug in for windows xp

if you first install the MS VM 3805 version then you should be able to update it from the windows update page to the 3810 version.
you won't get the option to update if VM is not on your pc

i personally hate the sun edition. i installed it awhile ago to run opera with java and it blew. i say just download one of the versions off the link i provided from msft and be on with it without having to install a bunch of crap.

Real Java

Click the nice big "Get it now" button in the upper right.

Don't bother with the bastardized, ancient MS JVM. Things that follow standards are cool.

I agree ...I've gone back and slipstreamed all of my XP install disks with the older sp1 with vm java. The Sun version drew a fleeting visible icon as it loaded java web content on even the fastest of my boxes.
