Java has updated to Java 8 Update 144
Be advised that it did not offer to uninstall the prior or older version this time. You should either uninstall the old one first and then install the new one or uninstall the old one after the new one is installed. You would think the coders at Java would write the installer to automatically uninstall the old before installing the new one.

Thanks for posting!

Odd about the uninstaller. It didn't let me update from the control panel - had an error downloading the update but when I downloaded manually, it did prompt me to uninstall the old version. Must be some random bug...

Today I tried again and got an error while downloading from the updater so I had to go get the file manually.

I wish they would implement an update system like many others have and let you have the option of having it automatically update in the background without having to log in as an admin!
