Java 1.4 'release candidate'. Awesome, or is it just me?

I installed jre 1.4.'release candidate' last night (from here) and my web pages seem to load quicker and be quite a bit snappier than they were beforehand. I can't explain it other than this might be a big improvement for IE 6/XP, over the 1.3.1.

Have you been using the 1.4 beta releases 'til now? Most people have complained that they ran slower than 1.3 probably because they weren't yet optimized.

I tried an earlier 1.4 beta version a few months ago on Win2k and had problems so I reverted back to 1.3.1.

I just upgraded to XP which I think has 1.3.1, and am referring to having just upgraded that to the latest 1.4beta. XP overall is much better than I experienced with 2k, but on top of that, this new 1.4 release quickly takes it to another level for me.

I switched to 1.4 from 1.3.1 when it entered release candidate stage. Sun Java always gives me great performance. IMP, using Sun Java is another way to protest Microsoft for their lousy policies.
