Thats teh motto of the unit in the movie. It also describes the movie.

To many military errors in production to count. No action, cheesy drama.

Yes, there are some truths, but regardless the movie was pointless.

Agreed. The movie sucked. All build up to war, and when the war started, no action.

Portrayed Marines badly IMO.

Have you read the book, it's no different.

The first gulf war was political, nothing more nothing less.

I didn't like it either. It did have some good moments, but for the most part, it was kinda bland.

The movie was based off a book written by Swofford(sp) about his experiences in the Persian Gulf. From what I've been told, the book was much better, but I have not personally read it.

Which makes for an AWESOME movie

They showed about half a second of politics anyways.

Boo-urns, not a good war movie like I anticipated.

No, not a good war film (or at least not your NORMAL war film) but it did express one Marines view of the Corps (and it made me realize I wasn't the only one that had views like HIS when I was in...)

I haven't seen the film, but I did read the book.

I like Marines. I've trained with them. Tough, determined SOBs. Way better than regular army-types.

yeh, but that's because you ARE military. the other 9/10 people won't realize the errors. 😉

and as far as "no action"... what? we gotta have shoot-'em-ups for a good movie?

Maybe if you compare a marine to a PAC clerk. Granted, I'm not downing the marines, but I theres quite a few top notch Army units....

I thought it was decent. I went in expecting it to be anti-military, which personally, I don't think it was. I don't think it potrays marines badly. It just gives another viewpoint to being in them.

The friend I went to see it with was disappointed because he was expecting it to be some Black Hawk Down action extravaganza.

Unconventional war movie, but I liked it. I think too many people went in expecting something else from the movie and were disappointed.
