Valhalla1, It depends on the person you say that to..
If you had said that to me, I would pick A.

you obviously didn't read the M5 vs. Corvette thread...

someone disagrees with my view of japanese imports, so they decide to crap on a healthy car thread accusing me of being.. QUOTE a "trailer trash racists" (who's the racist again?) because I said "I don't like Jap. cars"

then they decide I must be a redneck white trash Japanese-hating racist and tries to humiliate me

I would agree with loogie and stony about it not being the words themselves that should be considered offensive. It's more about the manner in which they are used.

This whole thing reminds me of the whole incident where David Howard resigned because of the outrage over his use of the word Niggardly.

I found this quote particularly fitting:

<< "I just feel very pleased that this whole thing has a silver lining," he said. "The silver lining is that this has led to a discussion that can help everyone understand each other better. . . . I used to think it would be great if we could all be colorblind. That's naive, especially for a white person, because a white person can't afford to be colorblind. They don't have to think about race every day. An African American does." >>

Gotta disagree with that. White people have to always watch every word they say, because the slightest thing can be blown into huge disproportion because a minority "takes offense" to something that was obviously not racist. IE - the insident with "niggardly". and my abbreviation for "Japanese cars" suddenly makes me a racist

do you KNOW why it would blow into a huge disproportion??? take a walk down history lane...i mean, sure some whites do watch what they say around others but a lot really don't care what happens if they do use racial slurs
