The last udpdate was that they haven't been able to establish communication with the lander. Communication was lost shortly before the landing. :(

That's unfortunate.
Not entirely unexpected, tho. Making successful soft landings on planetary bodies is quite difficult…very small club. Russia, USA and China are the only space programs to do it so far (I think…could be wrong, tho.)

Interestingly, Russia about only space program with repeated successful landings on Venus. US did one…Russia over half-dozen.
