While there have already been many developments in the Japan-China disputes over the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands related to internet users and social networks, a former Japanese porn actress chimed in on the issue, however those in China were much pleased with what she had to say. Hotaru Akane posted a message online that stated “From a historical point of view, the Senkaku Islands belong to China.” She didn’t elaborate much, but that was all that was needed for Chinese fans to feel vindicated.

Akane wrote the post on September 5th, posting it to her Sina Weibo account, a Twitter-like Chinese social network. While not whole

edly taking China’s side, it became clear that she, like many us, is just frustrated with the idea purchasing some uninhabited rocks in the East China Sea. She posted a second comment a few days later, saying “I wish to scream that the money comes from our taxes!”, referring to the Japanese government’s spending of $26 million.

Akane isn’t he only former adult film star from Japan who has caused a stir, Aoi Sora, who is immensely popular in China, also posted to her 13 million followers on Sina Weibo that the people of both Japan and China should come together peacefully to resolve the issue. Her comment generated over 150,000 responses, with many agreeing, but many also politely disagreeing. Akane is now known in China mostly for her AIDS awareness activism. Her messages received very positive replies, with one person commenting that the Japanese actress was a good person, and another adding that the Japanese government needs to learn from her. And of course there were the commenters that pledged to now go out and buy all of her DVDs.

Well I'm glad that's settled. I was waiting for her to come out with a position before I declared my own stance.

I know a tranny when I see one.

There's no tentacles coming out of his/her mouth. Are we sure she/he's a Japanese porn actor/actress?

Okay, after tracking down her portfolio I'm officially inclined to agree with her on any and all positions.

i think a country that wants to own a land that is very far from them like crossing an ocean is like a child that wants a toy that they cant have but still wanting it.

in my opinion the country that closest to the island is rightful owner. usa owns alaska? its more closer to canada.

china to the island is even 100 folds more far than usa to alaska.

if you were a country, you would get your ass kicked until you didn't exist. your knowledge of history and grammar are also hopeless.

There's a lot of well deserved resentment of the Japanese in China due to WWII. Japan is largely responsible for keeping it alive, due to their tendency to downplay or outright deny the atrocities they committed. Though not all Chinese feel this way, a lot do. I've met people on both sides.

Of course this latest dispute is most likely convenient ruse to push other issues out of the media spotlight. Why else get in a big kerfuffle over a bunch of tiny, uninhabited rocks. Politics is the same wherever you go.

The UN has been quiet on this issue, which is unsurprising. Their mandate was to resolve international disputes peacefully, but nobody is quite sure what they do these days. If the ROC can prove it's their territory, the islands should go to them. Anything that pisses off the PRC is good in my books.

Not much of a Japanese porn connoisseur but she had me tracking her portfolio too. Very certain this is a publicity stunt and I'm very happy to fall for it.

Considering that she is an actress; one does not expect her to understand geopolitics or economics.

remind us what party most of the actors/actresses are again? LOL

Just a reminder that the GOP elected Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger to office. And had Clint Eastwood give the most incomprehensible rambling speech over at the GOP convention.

Edit: Oh yeah and Fred Thompson.

I wasn't sure about it either, there are historical, political, economic and geographical subtleties at play here. But if the Shiofuki Queen thinks the islands belong to China, then who am I to argue.

Only weeks ago they were trumpeting the actions of thugs and vandals. Now the Chinese are trumpeting the opinions of whores? Glad to see that they're on the right side of history...
