So I'm watching this segment on the Japanese culture and they bring up the topic of sex... where "married men are not allowed to have a girlfriend, but it's okay to have a sex friend, so long as they pay for it with money, and not their heart."

I knew asians were philosophical about everything... but I think they're taking advantage of it just a bit, don't you? :D

They have things right in Albania too. I saw a picture from a rural there, and it showed a woman carrying a huge load of cut wood, and her husband was walking behind her smoking a cigerrate.

My friend at work(Gopal) is from India (Bangalore).


He's getting married in 2 weeks.




He got to pick his bride from 10-20 different pictures.


His mom's job was to get the pictures of the 10-20 different girls.

dude, Japanese does not equal or represent Asian. Just because they are in Asia doesnt mean that they represent all Asians right? Do you think an Italian can represent all the Europeans.? Please becareful with your choice of words.

i think its part of asian culture. in thailand, rich men have "minor wives" who they keep on the side. also prostitution is not a big deal in alot of those asian countries. they have hotels for hourly rates, massage parlours, and bar girls all over the place.

Your dissertation in your first post implies that Asians are " taking advantage of it just a bit," , which is ludicrous.
Not all Asians, in fact very few have cultures similar to that of the Japanese.

In China for example, such a belief, that "married men are not allowed to have a girlfriend, but it's okay to have a sex friend, so long as they pay for it with money, and not their heart" is considered wanton.

I don't know why it's a big deal. That statement was made tongue in cheek and I thought it was obvious.

Clarification: I knew asians were philosophical about everything... but I think the Japanese are taking advantage of it just a bit, don't you?
