um, did you take into consideration the weight difference between a ps2 and the xbox 360premium? i bet the power brick alone weighs more than the whole ps2

How do you guys justify paying $500ish for a freaking console? Heck for $700 you could build a fast gaming pc with no need to fork up $1k for an HDTV to truely enjoy the Xbox 360.

A lot of us already have an HDTV, so we don't have to pay any more. I paid $450 for my 360 bundle, and it came with an extra wireless controller and play & charge kit. Considering the capabilities of the 360 (streaming media from PC) plus the great gaming possibilities, and the ease of xbox live, I consider it an entertainment BARGAIN.

Also, a lot of us already have a nice gaming PC. ;)

good luck spending 700$ on a pc that runs at the same speed as a xbox360

it uses 3 powerpcchips. ONE chip alone is nearly as fast as any Pentium 4 (non DC) processor out there. 2 of them outpace any DC pentium 4 out there (maybe except for Extreme but barely). of them just blows it out of the water.

it also uses the ATI 1xxx series which aren't even available for public consumption unless you want to spend 700$.

Its memory modules are exclusively GDDR so it doesn't have ANY memory allocated to anything else, just pure superfastgddr.

a computer rig like that would cost you a pretty penny.

700 dollar pc would be slow as balls later next year.

Japan runs 110V... Standard US house power is 110-120V. Thus, no adaptor needed for power. (There is a REASON why Japan runs the same power as the US, because after WWII, the US rebuilt the Japanese power infrastructure since we destroyed it during the war).

I can't believe it's seling for $440. Sales are supposed to be low in japan, and the 360 is selling for $330 US.

Uh, what are you talking about. It sold out quickly over there. Are you just throwing out misinformation without actually having read anything about the launch?

Actually it didnt sell out at all, there are plenty of units available at Japan, and retailers are even discounting the price to $322 (right at launch no less). See here:

PS3 FTW ;)

Unless the XBOX gets better games then XBOX360 FTW ;)

But in all seriousness I'm probably going to buy a Revolution before anything if the rumors of 99 dollar launch are true. With a console that cheap, and a control that is supposedly going to revolutionze games....its the easy way out! And I'm not Nintendo fan by any means, last one I had was a SNES when I was a kid...

(Japan) We don't want (no) Xbox San Roku Maru: 28-39pct sold
>> Bloomberg published 2 articles about the sales of the Xbox 360 in Japan. The 2 market research firms don't seem to agree on the exact numbers, but both are low anyway:
* Microsoft Corp., the second-largest maker of video game systems, sold 28 percent of Xbox 360 consoles on store shelves in Japan, according to preliminary figures from market researcher Media Create Co.
Microsoft sold 41,817 consoles in the first two days since the Xbox 360 was introduced on Dec. 10 in Japan, Tokyo-based Media Create said in an e-mailed statement late yesterday. The researcher will publish revised figures tomorrow.

* Microsoft Corp. sold 39 percent of its new Xbox 360 game console in the first two days it was available in Japan, the world's second-biggest market for video games, according to market researcher Enterbrain Inc.
Microsoft, which started selling the Xbox 360 on Dec. 10, sold 62,135 of the 159,000 consoles it shipped, according to Tokyo-based Enterbrain. That compares with about 123,000 units sold in the first three days for the first Xbox, which debuted on Feb. 22, 2002, the report said.
Delays in getting games like Tecmo Ltd.'s ``Dead or Alive 4'' may have hurt initial sales of the Xbox 360, as 62 percent of gamers surveyed by Enterbrain said they plan to buy the game system to play the action-fighting game, according to the market researcher. The game's release, which has been delayed twice, is now scheduled for Dec. 29.

You dont have to worry much about the defective xbox 360s because its only the power supply on nearly all the defective units (just like xbox 1, except in xbox 1 it was 14 million not just a couple percent, and they replaced power cord with one with a breaker so it would burn down xbox and not your house and thus didn't fix the overheating internal power supplies at all). And if the power supply in the 360 overheats you can suspend it since its the external brick.

I got this info. from aother forum.

see below:

Xbox 360 Japanese Commemoration Packs with Final Fantasy Demo $439.99, Dec 10

Liksang has Xbox 360 Japanese Commemoration Packs with Final Fantasy Demo for $439.99, $67 shipping.

They won't play US games though.
Email Deal Similar Deals

This is only partially correct, It'll play only NTSC/J and not-region-coded games but 7 or 8 of the US games are NOT region coded! so it WILL play some US games

xbox-scene.net is my source
