Japan: Let's commit suicide together!

?Generally, they have a serious emotional problem, which is that they have difficulty dealing with others face-to-face, a kind of phobia or fear of talking about their feelings in front of others,? says Yukio Saito, a Methodist minister who founded the country?s first suicide-prevention hotline. ?Maybe this is quite a Japanese-type emotion. They have difficulty having personal relationships, so they tend to use the Internet to communicate their feelings.?

Hmmm, that kinda sounds like me... not the suicide part but about the inability to relate to people in the real world.

It touched upon it in the article.

Doesn't help that there a lots of tall buildings either. 😉 Seriously. It's not coincidence that suicide is higher in places with bridges, lots of tall buildings, etc.

There are a few idiots right here I would encourage to commit suicide. One of them has monkey pox and kidney disease.😀

I read it but there must be some around here that can add some info or experiences to shed some more light.

Not very shocking to me. Studied a bit about Japanese culture -- from the start to present. Suicide was and is (inferred by the rather high suicide rate) a popular way to go. There have been lots of stories on lovers committing suicide written in the past...and on suicide in general. It was (and perhaps still is) seen as an honorable way to go. Now the problem seems to stem from the rather conservative nature of the Japanese and their inability to speak openly about their problems as well as external pressures. (I would imagine a lot of guys going nuts in America if all of a sudden girls just decided that they wouldn't want to marry or have children (and hence, the low TFR in Japan).)

Less fvcking idiots in the world. Don't see the problem
