Because somehow northeasterners are small? That's retarded. You must have gone to the midget mall, or maybe you just went to the only mall the short bus stopped at. :D
What can I say? My friend and I were talking about it. He's 6'3", I'm 6'2". Most of the people there were under 6" and skinny.

It was in a mall in a town called New Paltz, IIRC.

Just because you grew up on beef hormones and govt subsidized corn in the midwest doesn't mean everyone else did.

If you talk like you type it would be no wonder that they didn't want to deal with you.

Anyway, I have no reason to believe that J&R is rude except that other people vouch for it - you didn't provide any examples of the things they said that were so rude. Basically, the only reason we have to believe that they are rude is that they wouldn't do the price match, which, if they have their reasons, then fine.

What's wrong with the way I type? Could you care to give more details?
Well when you ask for price match and the guys told you no with made up reasons and told you to returned to product and never shop to their store again if you don't want to accept their offer, what would you feel ?
For me, I would never shop to their store again. I shop at JandR.com because in the past I've got good experience with them.
If I live in NY, I certainly will stop by JandR and kick that guy ass but the problem is I live in CA :)

I'm in the midwest now. I grew up in SoCal and lived in the South for ten years after I got out of the Army.

My experiences with NorEasters comes from tourists in the South, and the majority of the south-eastern Florida population.

Who were you trying to pricematch to? If they suspected the pricematch was to a gray market camera, they'd be pretty hard to deal with.

I've shopped with them before & been fairly happy & I've pricematched with them before too.

They're a little expensive, but I've had good results with customer service.

I've only bought from JandR one an it went very smoothly. Price Matched an S50 from a gray market site. They guy couldn't come down as low as the gray market place, but he made the camera cheaper than any place else. He asked if I need anything any memory, or accessories. I told him which 256meg flash card I wanted and asked if I could get a deal on that since he couldn't go all the way down on the camera. He said sure even though the CF card already had a $10 off MIR on it. Now, the guy wasn't the friendliest person I've ever talked to, but the definetion of "friendly" varies by region and I'm sure the guy was friendly by NY standards.

North Easterners aren't rude they're just *honest* - I'd rather deal with them than a Jamba Juice sucking, surfboard toting, "what can you do for me," West coaster. :D

I got a set of headphones from JandR's retail store... Pretty expensive ones at that... Funny thing happened on the way to the subway from the store - they snapped in two when I tried them on (ok, so I do have a big head)... I freaked because I thought that there was no way that the store would take em back.. So I go back any way, 15 min. after I bought the headphones, and return them to a laughing old dude... The guy was gruff yet friendly ("whatcha play tug of war with em?") and promptly gave me a refund.. I guess it depends on what rep you get...
