Seems to me like airbrushing and fake women are pretty popular around here, real life women can't measure up to that unfortunately.

Maybe not in your neck of the woods, but I've met several women in real life who do.

Not that all women should be based off of them or try to live up to that level of beauty, because you should be proud of whoever it is you are, but not all women need airbrushing.

yea, college is great like that :D

Now that she is overweight, starting to sag, and is becoming old and haggish, she's having trouble finding work and now she curses what made her rich and famous. That carries about as much credibility as Pamela Lee Anderson speaking out against breast implants....after she got filthy rich sticking her plastic boobs in everyone's face, of course.

Sorry, Jamie, you can't stay young and perky forever, gravity catches up with all of us sooner or later.

Didn't Curtis recently have like 300lbs liposuctioned and full body 'sculpting'?
Does it really matter why she is doing it? More and more young girls these days actually think they are too fat or that they need to be on a diet so that they can look like the cover of Cosmo. This at an age when the only thing they should be thinking about is having fun and being a kid. Regardless of her motives, she's doing a good thing.

from what i have heard, she has male hormones (XY) but has androgen insensitivity syndrome, which makes her body insensitive to hormones like testosterone, resulting in a phenotypically female individual.
Yep. Curtis is chromosomally a male (XY) but due to a genetic mutation has androgen insensitivity syndrome (testosterone receptors are either not present or don't work). Because testosterone binding is blocked, development of the fetus follows along a FEMALE pathway.

Since us men are all essentially females + the effects of testosterone in early development, a genetically male fetus which lacks the effect of testosterone will develop pretty much like any normal female would (depending upon the degree of the testosterone insensitivity), except they have immature inquinal or abdominal testicles that will not descend (no scrotum), no uterus, ovaries, or fallopian tubes, and are sterile. Outwardly appear to be a very normal female; boobs, shapely hips and thighs, etc.

I understand EXACTLY where she is coming from. I can't pick up a magazine with women in it without them looking like perfect, 100% flawless specimens.

Producing images, male and female, of idealized beauty is not new. Instead of photography, the Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese, etc used paint and sculpture as the media. As anyone complain that Michelangelo's David or the Venus Di Milo presented unhealthy images to men or women?

well yes, it does. for those who are unconvinced, it undermines her credibility. is she doing this because she really believes it (and if so, how come she didn't do it earlier), or is she doing this because she has some other agenda? why should i believe what she says?
