From NY Mag:

NO:
-"Bond, James Bond"
- Miss Moneypenny
- Q
- deformed villain

And only one sex scene with only one woman.

So you have a british agent solving some nafrious plot and he happens to be named James Bond. Why do they bother making bond movies anymore if they're going to rape them? Call Spielberg and Lucas if that's what they want for the franchise.

Why do all the commercials say it starts Thursday? It starts at midnight tonight, but then that's Friday (12:00 am). Liars! Ah well, hope to see it tonight.

yeah, without the name catchphase, gadgets, moneypenny, or deformed badguys (Jaws anyone), it's just a Bourne clone. but thats ok (for now)

I complained about this EXACT thing in another thread. I got bashed but Daniel Craig is NOT a Bond. His Bond movies no where near resemble the others. It's just Bond in name. Casino Royale was a good action movie but not a good Bond movie.

I don't hate him, but he's not Connery.

And I don't care that his character is closer to the novels.

I agree with you.

No bond would ever suggest a gay sex scene. Bond is all about the women.

For truth. I just started watching the original bond movies with Connery now that they've been remastered and released on Blu-ray and they are so much better than the bond movies now. Connery was the man.

I sawr it tonight (at midnight :D) and enjoyed it. I didn't expect it to be as good as the first one, and it wasn't. Casino Royale was just top-notch excellent.

Quantum of Solace is quite good as well though, but they use that shaky camera shit all the time in the action scenes like they use in all the Bourne movies, making it really hard to focus on what the hell is going on. Pretty annoying.

I just saw it. It definitely does not match Casino Royale. I couldn't believe it ended when it did.

All of us that went to see it were very disapointed...
The editing was far to choppy to maintain a story line (it looked like they were desperate to add any kind of edge they could)
The bad guys were incredibly flat as characters go
The script was incredibly one-dimensional and predictable
This was the first JB movie with NO humorous bits at all in it
A friend who went with us to see it understood none of the movie because she hadn't seen Casino Royale

All in all, the worst JB movie ever (though Craig is still superb in the role).

saw it last night, it wasn't that bad. I went in expecting an action movie and I got it. The plot's not totally horrible neither although there were times of disconnect.

Saw it last week. It was horrible. When I got home from the movie I had to check and see who the director was. As I expected, he's some no name and here is his resume. No wonder it sucked.

# World War Z (2010) (announced)

# Quantum of Solace (2008)
... aka B22 (UK: promotional abbreviation)
... aka Marc Forster's Quantum of Solace (USA: poster title)
... aka QoS (International: English title: promotional abbreviation)
# The Kite Runner (2007)
# Stranger Than Fiction (2006)
# Stay (2005/I)
# Finding Neverland (2004)
# Monster's Ball (2001)
... aka Bal du monstre, Le (Canada: French title)
# Everything Put Together (2000)

# Loungers (1995)

The action was totally awesome, the story not so much. But I don't really watch Bond movies for story.

Disappointing next to Casino Royale. Read a great review that mentioned how this was basically "Bond in Mourning." Also talked about how for generations every male wanted to be James Bond, simply put. But not this Bond. He gets his balls crushed. He gets tortured. He is a tortured individual. He has rage and lack of restraint. He doesn't like himself, etc...

I like this new Bond, didn't think this one was as focused as the previous. I think they're taking too long to develop the whole Spectre story.

Uh, I suggest you head over to imdb and actually look at those titles. And wtf are you on when you say he hasn't directed anything, most of that list is pretty good.

Saw it wednesday night and was disappointed. The shaky camera used for the action scenes was horrible.

I'm saying there's not an action movie on there and most of those movies were horrible. I guess he's your type of director though. Go watch Garden State for the 125th time and paint your toenails or whatever it is guys like you do on a Sunday morning ;)
