This is why you need to be accompanied by someone you trust if you want to be sedated during your colonoscopy. They won't trust you walking, driving, taking the bus or taking a taxicab back on your own as the driver could steal your money, take a longer run, abuse you, etc... Without a trusted companion, you only get local anesthesia and... well... my guess is the cramp discomfort will be pretty painful. Otherwise, you try to count to 10, reach 3 and wake up and it's all done and you're feeling quite 'light-headed' for a while.

Just a more extreme reaction to sedation than most people. When my teeth were pulled I was a little woozy/dizzy for 5 minutes or so after I woke up and then I was fine. I could have driven myself home.

Exactly. I was 17 when I had all of them pulled. It was a Friday. They gave me general anesthesia I woke up about 45 minutes later not even realizing they'd pulled them. We lived an hour up in the Sierra Nevada from my oral surgeon and stopped after 45 minutes in a little town to get some groceries. I went in the store with my mom and when we came out I asked if I could drive the last seven miles home. She said sure and I had no issue at all. Felt totally fine and alert. I ate normal food that night, had zero swelling and very little pain. Went to school that Monday with no issue.
