I live in manhattan and I get the quarterly j&r catalog. Their prices are rape. I'm not saying this thread is a bad deal but in general, their prices are rape.

router sold out and all other good stuff ( i was there at exactly 10:38am) line was with like 300 people and they had only 55 laptops. I was able to buy laptop went to pick up area and none were left manager said that they have laptops at their queens warehouse and they will ship mine by UPS from there for free.

J&R regular prices are just as good as STUY =). j&r did have pretty nice prices on those select items today though. too bad they were like sold out the minute they opened. goes to show you that people jumped on it because this sale is going to happen only once in a millenium.

I went to J&R once and I hated it there. Ignorant sales reps that are clueless about store products. Kept telling me to go ask another rep, who in turn told me to ask the other dept. etc. And becuz I look young, they didn't take me seriously... no respect at all.

yea I was there and it was a mad house. Tons of people were pissed off trying to grab those 22" monitors and those Sony VAIO laptops. Thank god i was just there to pick up the Netgear Switch Kit.

Oh yeah there's another J&R thing going on Tuesday at 12PM where the first 500 customers can pick up a "factory-serviced" Palm III for $49 bux

ok... I'll admit it. Staten Island Tech is the best school in NYC that's built on a LANDFILL!
FWIW, Townsend Harris in Queens is widely regarded as the best HS in NYC.
