I imagine 99% of the people here have no idea who he was. Suffice it to say if you were in New England in the early seventies and caught J. Geils Band live (especially their early days as a bar band) you saw the only band that could consistently outrock even the Rolling Stones.
After reading the linked article, all I can say is it is an absolute crime they were never inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame.
