maybe for those without tastebuds, they need to 'drown' steak in pedestrian toppings.

those of us with a good palate.. we'll continue eating our steaks medium rare... without unnecessary junk

dude, you probably get to a $30/plate restaurant once a year.

The 'side-dish' was not a topping.

you are talking outside your paygrade now.

Ive been to a local Argentinian joint. It was $100 for two people and it was all you can eat and drink, excluding alcohol. We had every imaginable type of beef you could think of, but my favorite was bacon wrapped chicken. It melted in your mouth.

fogo de chao is all over the place.

mac and cheese put under a steakhouse's broiler is godly

Anyone ever been to an Argentinian steak house, like El Gaucho in Seattle? The beef from Argentina and Uruguay is some of the finest in the world.

No problem, I think everyone is just shocked you didn't scream at the waiter that the suggested pairings on the menu were clearly wrong. :)

Pampas Steakhouse is close to where alkemyst is staying and is Argentinian steakhouse. They bring the raw meat out to you and you choose your steak.

Bone's or Chops are still the places to go for steak in Atlanta. Fogo de Chao if you're looking for buffet.

yes. and Fogo is Brazilian style.
Grit fritters and corn pudding for sides at Bone's. You're in the South.

yeah, just rolled into it because it's right by the Marriott I am at in Norcross.

Not really looking to drive much while I am here since I am on my own.

The only place mac and cheese belongs is on the shelf at a grocery store.

Asparagus, garlic potatoes, shrooms, those complement a steak.

mac and cheese found in the same container do not deserve to be eaten

fogo de chao = brazillian =/= argentinian

that's nice. there aren't any argentinian steakhouses where felixdecat is from, but there is a fogo which is exactly what he described. unless he's moved.

he described it as an argentinian place, which means i would expect to find chimichurri sauce, which I would NOT expect to find at fogo

so no, I would say it is not exactly what he described.

other than claiming it's argentinian the food, pricing, and rodizio style of service is straight up fogo.

Too funny, I go to that exact restaurant on occasion for lunch since it's next to work.

I really need to get to a brazillian steakhouse in the city. I've done it once and it was phenomenal.

That sounds more like a Brazilian style joint. The brazilian meat houses in Seattle are exactly like that, Argentinian are more like a traditional menu based steakhouse but since you were there I will take your word for it. Sounds good to me regardless.

edit: nm, just read the rest of the thread and saw your correction.

I too was wrong. The place was called Texas de Brazil. I took my nephew there back in 2004 when he got back from serving in Korea:

http://texasdebrazil.com/ <--- The website has a catchy themesong.

i was giving you the benefit and assuming fogo because the other places in the area have brazil in the name but...

(chimichurri is good stuff)
