The Jager alone is equal to around 12 "drinks". The 40 of steel works out to be about 80z worth of a "light beer". So that's 6'ish drinks.

So you had about 18 drinks and don't feel bad?

You're either 900 pounds, a functional alcoholic, or a liar.

I disagree completely.

Me too. I'm a functional alcoholic and that would destroy me...
lulz. I pretty much am and yeah, I'd be feelin that shit the next morning/day. Anything around a pint or more (80 proof) of liquor and I have noticeable hangover effects the next day.

I beg to differ. I recall splitting a 5th of jager with a buddy many years ago, during a ride up to NH (we were chilling in the back, btw) from NC. I believe we started somewhere ~Connecticut, and this was back when I could drink with limited ill effects.

I did not have a fun morning.....

However, if there is something in the jager to limit the hangover effects, I wouldn't be too surprised. The rumor (well, it is a rumor), is that it has traditional medicinal uses in Germany. I couldn't confirm this when I was there, so I'm just saying. There are other similar liquers in other countries that have a very long-standing history of medicinal use, however. Balzams, which comes from Latvia, can be found in just about every house in the country, and tends to be reserved as a salve for wounds and a teaspoon tonic for just about any illness that comes about. It's basically jager on crack--super spicy and harsh. ....and tasty :)

(and if you read that wiki article, you'll learn that it may have been used to cure Catherine the Great of illness, thus allowing her a quick and speedy recovery from all that horse-fucking :p)

I'm 230 lbs and can kill a liter of 100 proof liquor and not have an sort of hangover, or throw up. I drink less than once a month...

100proof = Vodka = weaksauce. do you drink your 750 over the course of a day, or over an hour?

it varies but not much more than a few hours, 5 tops (10-2) is a long night of drinking.

I can get drunk to the point of not remembering half the night previously and wake up feeling completely fresh, or I can have 3 drinks and not even be buzzed and be more hungover the next morning--it all depends on the quality of the alcohol.

Yeh, I'm not saying you *can't* drink that much and survive the next day. But unless you are beastly in size, or a trained veteran in the art of alcohol consumption, that much alcohol regardless of quality or type is going to wreck you.

I'm 175 pounds. If I consumed what the OP did over 4 hours time that puts my BAC at .46.
That's deadly levels for casual drinkers. A functional alcoholic might actually be able to walk and carry on a conversation at that level.

Jager...mmm, tastes like cough syrup :p. Actually it's alright, just not my fave. I've only consumed it casually and not been on a bender with it.

Different types of alcohol definitely affect you differently though. I'm a serious lightweight, and on one night last weekend, I had 4 beers and had a bit of a headache the next morning. The next night I had 4 glasses of white wine and was no worse for wear.

I googled this to ask why Jager doesn't give me hangovers and it brought me here.
Now I never mixed mine with Steel Reserve or nothing and I don't remember how much I drank but enough to get wasted..... haven't done it in a while but I can confirm for at least me personally it doesn't give me a hangover. I would feel GREAT the next day I woke up. No idea why. Shouldn't happen. Was hoping to find an answer as to why that might be here. Doesn't mean it will work the same for everyone though.

You probably had plenty of water prior/during, or are very young. By age 30, a burger + fries and 2-3 beers (bottle) or a moderate amount of whatever else (bottle of wine, couple liquor drinks or mixed drinks) would leave me with a headache in the morning.

The primary cause of morning hangover (headaches) is dehydration from your body processing poison for 7 hours.

That's a fair assumption and I am over 30 now but this was only a few years ago when I was like 28 or 29.
Water wasn't a factor either. Now I haven't tried it again recently that's fair but it still doesn't explain why back then, Yager wouldn't give me a hangover. Trust me you have a perfectly logical argument but it is what it is. Sorry for bringing up such an old post too but like I said, this is what I found when I googled the question. You seem to be a little knowledgeable about this. Just trust me and take my word for it, that's just what happened, any other reason why this might be?

Edit probably worth mentioning Yager wasn't the only thing I drank so I'm not just one of those people who don't know what a hangover is or just don't get them. Plenty of other stuff I drank would give me hangovers.

The human body peaks in 20's, and it's downhill from 30 onward. Most of the time things that you shrugged off in 20's will come back to haunt you in one way or another, to include overeating, overdrinking, self-poisoning, and unintentional attempted suicide. Some people aren't as lucky (like me, ate like hog and gained weight like one too) but I know plenty of people that'd down a liter of 80 proof whatever-the-f and be fine in the morning, whereas I get headaches if I have more than a couple shots worth now, regardless of how much I drown myself in water.

So in short: humans are very adaptable and very resilient, and that starts to fade at 30 and just gets worse over time unless you condition yourself (for good or bad things).

So you think it just had to do with my age? I don't know. I would have to disagree. If that was the case why were other things giving me hangovers but not Yager? Now I don't have access to it right now but next time I drink it I'll let you know for sure. I'm 33 right now. But let's just assume it still doesn't give me a hangover. (but other things do) What other reason could there be? Like I said, once I test this out I'll let you know either way.

No, I think it has to do with how much water you had available to process the alcohol primarily. Lower amount, more headache, higher amount, less headache. Age just makes your body generally less efficient, so more susceptible.

Well, you defiantly sound like you know your stuff but I still insist that I didn't change anything other than what I was drinking. It was a while ago though and my memory isn't the best so I'm not saying it's not possible or anything but I'm still insisting that I think there's something about me, Jager or both that doesn't give me a hangover.

But yeah.... The Steel Reserve part of the OP makes me very suspicious, I don't believe that lol. That stuff is nasty and I can't even finish one of those. I will try to get some more as soon as possible man and let you know. I'd love to do some sort of controlled test because I strongly believe this.
